Back in November 2001, I made a bet with Dan Schulman, CEO of Virgin Mobile USA.

He had made fun of me for having patches from Yosemite on my denim jacket. He did it for weeks.

So I (just some guy) finally bet him (millionaire) $500 that The Gap would have advertising with patches on jean jackets within 1 year. That is, I bet him that my patch thing was so cool that Gap would imitate it - but that it was SO COOL that it would take Gap a year to catch on, and when they finally did they would think it was so cool that it would actually be in their advertising.

Crazy bet.

Well....He lost. I showed him the pics. He admitted it. He said he'd pay (during 2002). But he still hasn't paid up as of Feb 2003 December 2005. Dan Schulman's Unpaid Patch Bet: the proof. These pictures are from summer 2002. I doubt he'll ever pay, but it sort of irks me that the guy would just blow it off like that. It was a big deal bet, not just some "betcha blah blah blah" bet.
