Here is Charlotte Stewart-Sloan's record.  She debated all but the first tournament with Amy Li She is in the finals of the Chase Manhattan tournament and has not dropped a ballot so far.

She will attend Stanford in the fall.

Bronx 3-2 (with Cory)

Newburgh Free Academy 4-2

Villiger, 4-1, finals

Hendrick Hudson, 2-3

Emory 3-3

Those were all the big tournaments...but NFL districts 2-2, (but ballots were 4-3 i think) CFL districts (3-5) Regionals 3-0 State's 2-2  (Quarters) Charlotte won 3rd speaker.

Here is Cory Ackerman's record.  He will be at NYU in the fall.  He debated

with Alex Bettig in all

but the first tournament.

Cory and Alex:

Bronx (3-2, Cory with Charlotte)

NFA 3-3 (Alex and Martha)

Villiger 2-3

Hendrick Hudson 3-2

Emory 2-4

Smaller tournaments:

NFL districts 0-2

CFL districts 4-4

Regionals 3-0

States 2-2 (Quarters)  Cory won 6th speaker.

The debate team will miss Charlotte and Cory next year.  Both seniors

exemplified leadership

and lived up to Stuy's tradition of success.

Charlotte was our policy captain for the 2003-4 year.  She deftly managed all

of the crises that

come with the job and had time to maintain her status as one of the nation's

elite

debaters.  Charlotte will be debating, most likely for the last time, against

Bronx Science in the

final round of the JP Morgan-Chase Contest on ocean policy.  She plans to

major in Political

Science or Earth Systems at Stanford.  In addition to being an excellent

speaker, Charlotte is an

excellent writer.  We will surely hear her name again soon.

Cory Ackerman pored over the critical literature in his four years at Stuy.

He raised the

theoretical bar for our team--we have moved well beyond Foucault and Lacan

under his

tutelage and now converse freely on articles penned in French or Slovenian by

the most

demanding authors in philosophy.  He has been instrumental in teaching the

novices and leaves

a fine legacy.  He is contemplating NDT debate and will attend NYU in the

fall.  Cory plans to

major in Radio Communications or Philosophy.
