| Broadcast of Lakers-Nets 1-3. 12 Juin. |
It's mid-afternoon on Wednesday, three games of the 2002 Finals are in the books, and here on French broadcast TV they're running the first coverage of the series. They're 'fast-forwarding' through the games. Showing 5-10 minute chunks of the quarters of each of the games. The running commentary is as if it were live, so it's not a news program format. The play commentator seems to be a French guy, but the color commentary is from a guy with this ridiculous American-accent. And he says stuff like "Wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa!!! Wa-wa-wa-!!" to punctuate the dunks.
On the one hand it's amazing that they're showing it at all. On the other, I'm not sure I can venture an understanding of the format chosen. C'est bizarre!
